Between 1933 and 1942 over 86,000 CCC enrollees worked on Oregon’s National forests, state parks and tribal lands. They built 50,000 miles of forest roads, 20,000 miles of trails, hundreds of lookout towers and more. Glenn will share the history of this program in Oregon with excerpts from his recently published book.
Glenn served as an Army Intelligence officer for 25 years, held senior leadership positions at the Pentagon on the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the White House Situation Room, and at NATO headquarters in Brussels Belgium. He is currently a professional ski patroller at Mt Bachelor and lives with his family in Bend. He has written over a dozen books including The History of Mt Bachelor, The Oregon Skyline Trail, and Oregon Search and Rescue. His book on the history of the CCC in Oregon is due to be published in the summer of 2025.
