Dale Crockatt
1957 – 2015
Dale loved Mount Hood from a young age. He would spend his life, until cancer took him at age 57, exploring and photographing Mount Hood. He was a skier, mountain climber, and hiker that always packed a camera. He financed his lifestyle by being a Professional Ski Patroller, bartender, guide and a real estate professional. Having been rescued twice himself, he was always available for a search and rescue mission with the Crag Rats.
Here are a few of the thousands of photographs Dale bequeathed to the Museum upon his passing. The majority of his work was 35mm slides and predates digital photography and photoshop enhancements. Here is a small sampler of the photography of Dale Crockatt.
