Historian and pioneering mountaineer Jeff Thomas and filmmaker Ned Thanhouser will present a one-hour video program highlighting films they have made documenting pioneering Oregon rock and mountain climbers. The films will include stories about the first technical rock climb at Smith Rock, pioneering ascents in the Menagerie Wilderness on a series of rock pinnacles each uniquely named after farm animals, the fascinating history of the Mt. Hood Lookout Cabin, and the always popular documentary about Ranger, the Alsatian Shepard that climbed Mt. Hood 500 times! The presentation will be followed by a Q&A with Jeff and Ned.
